FELMORES
Northlands Park
Nevendon Bushes
Northlands Park is a large site inbetween Felmores Road, Ashlyns, A132 and Parkside. It contains a large amount of grassed area and trees, there is a large childrens play area with a fenced court nearby with a skate park.
There are two large lakes, connected with a small strip of water with a wooden bridge of it. These lakes are popular during the fishing season. Even with the sound of nearby traffic and the hum of the A127 the park is a lovely place to be in the summer.
The Council have spent some time improving the area, removing an old play area which was unsafe as well as opening and flattening another area, making it a lot tidier.

The lakes are home to geese, ducks, swans, grebes and many other birds and animals for part of the year.
I have seen a couple of large pikes being caught from the lakes over the years. The Basildon Angling Fisheries website also list bream, carp, roach and rudd amongst the other species stocked here. The site also states that these lakes were created during the early 1970's. There are several swims located around both parts of the lake.
There is a café next to the larger lake with toilets.
