WELCOME TO FELMORES
Nestled within the town of Pitsea, situated in the Borough of Basildon and covered by the old parish of Nevendon the Felmores Estate was built during the 1970's on what I was told used to be a farm.
During the 1990's the Council (then part of the Commission for New Towns) began work on tidying the estate up by removing the chimneys from the boilers that littered the area, and in more recent times by removing roadside bushes and blocking off alleyways to deter crime.
A few years ago the Council attempted to relabel it 'Northlands Park Neighbourhood' after the nearby park and lake. Residents of Basildon still know it as Felmores.
The estate is centred around Felmores shopping centre which also has the dental and doctor surgery and is flanked by Briscoe and Felmores Schools.
Felmores is bordered by The Watermill restaurant & hotel, Burnt Mills Road and Ashlyns. It contains a large park area with man-made lake and an ancient wood.
It is (poorly) served by First Essex buses 5 service which travels from Basildon town centre in to Pitsea.
